Why is the clinic closing?
It has been our privilege to run Spriggs Chiropractic in Newbury for the last decade. Through that time we built the clinic to be a place we, and many others love, yet weathered the COVID storm and cost of living – and running a business – crisis, both achieved MSc degrees and lecturing qualifications (and started lecturing), achieved Royal College of Chiropractor’s Patient Partnership Quality Mark, got married and as many of you know, welcomed our daughter to the world in late 2024. It’s been a whirlwind, a rollercoaster and a pleasure all at once.
A number of factors have played into the very difficult decision to close, but a combination of striving for a better work-life balance as Mark doesn’t want to miss out any more bedtimes and family Saturdays, whilst being offered a unique career opportunity in academia and a decision to not renew the lease on the current premises, after 10 years, means we are closing the clinic and leaving Newbury to move to Scotland.
We understand that this may be unexpected and that patients may have questions about their ongoing care. We are committed to making the transition as straightforward as possible and providing you with the information you need.
Note: Spriggs Nutrition will move to being 100% online – albeit we are not currently seeing patients at this time but is expected to resume in 2027 once we are settled in our new location.
When will the clinic close?
The clinic will remain open until 28th November 2026. Appointments scheduled after this date will need to be rearranged. We will contact affected patients directly where appropriate.
Please note from 1st September 2026 our clinical hours are amended to:
Monday 2pm – 8pm
Tuesday Closed
Wednesday 2pm – 8pm
Thursday 8am – 2pm
Friday 2pm – 8pm
Saturday 8am – 12pm
Sunday Closed
What will happen to my ongoing treatment?
If you are currently in active care receiving treatment, we will provide you with information about your options before the clinic closes. Depending on your circumstances, this may include continuing your care with another chiropractic clinic or healthcare professional of your choice.
Mark can discuss your current treatment and any relevant recommendations with you before the clinic closes. If you have an appointment booked, or decide to book an appointment for treatment before 28th November, you can request to extend this to discuss with Mark about your onward care. Please email hello@spriggschiropractic.co.uk or reply to your appointment confirmation if you want to extend an existing appointment.
Alternatively, if you are not currently booked, or would prefer to discuss your specific situation with Mark by telephone, you can book a dedicated call with him at this link. If there is not a time available that is convenient please email hello@spriggschiropractic.co.uk and we will aim to arrange a convenient time.
What will happen to my patient records?
Your patient records will be handled and retained in accordance with applicable UK legal and professional requirements. We will ensure that appropriate arrangements are made for the secure storage and/or transfer of records following the closure for the required time frame.
If you need access to your records, or would like a copy to be provided to another healthcare professional, please email us hello@spriggschiropractic.co.uk with ‘Records Request’ in the subject line and you will be emailed a dedicated form link to specify what records you require and how you would like these supplied.
Can my records be transferred to another chiropractor?
Yes. With your consent, we can arrange for relevant information from your records to be provided to another chiropractor or healthcare professional. Please email us hello@spriggschiropractic.co.uk with ‘Records Request’ in the subject line and you will be emailed a dedicated form link to specify what records you require and who you would like them to go to.
I have prepaid for future appointments. What happens now?
If you have paid in advance for appointments or a treatment package that have not yet been provided, we will contact you to discuss how you would like to proceed.
We will review your individual circumstances and explain what arrangements apply to any unused services or payments.
I have an appointment booked after the closure date. What should I do?
Appointments scheduled after 28th November 2026 will be dealt with individually. We will contact affected patients where possible.
If you have not heard from us and believe you have an appointment that may be affected, please email hello@spriggschiropractic.co.uk
Can I still contact the clinic after it closes on 28th November?
For questions about your records or other matters relating to the closure, please email hello@spriggschiropractic.co.uk before 28th November 2026. After this date, the clinic will continue to monitor the hello@spriggschiropractic.co.uk email address for a minimum of six months to 31st May 2027 – please note after the clinic closes email response time will be within five business days.
The clinic telephone number (01635 3238) will remain live until 18th December 2026, however please note you may need to leave a message and we will call you back, and so it may be easier to email with details of your request or query.
What should I do if I need chiropractic care after the clinic closes?
You are free to choose another registered chiropractor or healthcare professional. If appropriate, your current chiropractor can discuss your ongoing care and provide relevant information to help you continue treatment elsewhere. You can search for registered chiropractors via the General Chiropractic Council’s website and click the ‘Find A Chiropractor’ function.
What if I have an urgent health concern?
The clinic’s closure does not change the usual arrangements for urgent or emergency medical care. If you have a medical emergency, please contact NHS 111 or emergency services as appropriate.
If you are unsure whether your symptoms require urgent attention, seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.
Who can I contact if my question isn’t answered here?
If you have a question that is not covered by these FAQs, please email hello@spriggschiropractic.co.uk and we will do our best to provide you with the information you need during the transition.
