Here at Spriggs Chiropractic, we offer a range of services to provide the highest standard of care. We are one of a select number of Chiropractic clinics in the UK that are certified in Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP). CBP is the most researched and evidence based technique of Chiropractic with over 200 published peer reviewed research articles within the scientific and medical literature.

CBP takes an advanced, scientific approach to Chiropractic that combines anatomy, physiology, biology, physics, engineering and geometry to correct your specific requirements and achieve your health goals. The 200+ research publications have been published in some of the top journal articles including Clinical Biomechanics, Spine, Journal of Manipulative Therapeutics and Journal of Spinal Disorders.

On Site X-rays

As part of our services, we utilise digital x-rays when clinically required at Spriggs Chiropractic. This allows us to assess your spinal health in great detail and allows us to diagnose patients with pathologies that may be the cause of your complaint or may alter how we can approach your care. Together with your physical examination, the x-rays provide an objective measure of your overall spinal health and the most appropriate approach to proceed with treatment or referral to another health care provider.

We operate within the standards of care provided by the IR(ME)R Guidelines for clinical practice for those who may be concerned about x-rays. We also offer x-ray referrals for other local healthcare providers such as osteopaths, physiotherapists, sports therapists and other chiropractors. Give us a call on 01635 432383 for more information about referring for patients to us for this service.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Chiropractic adjustments to your spine reduce pain and muscle spasm 1-4. With this use of CBP, Spriggs Chiropractic utilises both diversified spinal adjustments and Mirror Image® adjustments, which are used for reducing pain, reducing muscle spasm and improving your posture.

When your care commences, the first stage of the plan will involve chiropractic adjustments to your spine to help increase the movement of the joint and reduce any muscle spasm. This starts your healing process off in the right direction by restoring your pain free movement and giving you your life back. Once your body is ready and your symptoms have subsided, then we start your body’s rehabilitation. Within the clinic at Spriggs Chiropractic, we are capable of providing functional and structural rehabilitation to your spine and nervous system with a range of different facilities.

Chiropractic adjustments have also been found to increase stimulation to the central nervous system, joint position sense, reduce the risk of falls in the elderly, increase lower limb muscle strength and increase reflex excitability 5-12. All of which are crucial for athletes and sport men and women to perform at their absolute best.

In some situations, Chiropractic adjustments can be performed using instruments such as an activator or an Arthrostim™. These instruments are used to help mobilise the spine and the small joints of the body. These tools are also utilised at times when other adjustment techniques are not appropriate, for example when adjusting children, the elderly or when spinal manipulative therapy is contra-indicated. Your safety and health are our top priorities; therefore any decisions on the treatment types recommended will be discussed with you prior to any procedures being performed. The most appropriate treatment techniques for you and your needs are made based upon your examination and x-ray findings as well as your own health goals.

Spinal and Exercise Rehabilitation

Additional services we offer is functional rehabilitation exercises. This includes postural exercises, core stabilising exercises, proprioceptive/balance and coordination exercises, joint stretching and strengthening exercises. Our focus is on your whole body, not just the injured area.

Structural rehab services offered include the use of in clinic and home spinal remodelling techniques. Spinal remodelling simply involves applying a sustained load to the spine in any given direction. Spinal remodelling is used to aid structural rehabilitation of the spine to restore the natural curves of the spine which has been shown to improve pain and function13-15. There are many different ways to rehabilitate the spine following an injury or episodes of pain. We at Spriggs Chiropractic utilise specialised spinal adjustment tables, tools with specific exercise and traction equipment to strengthen your spine. This also includes whole body vibration. Your prescribed exercises are tailored to your individual needs following the findings from our examination and x-rays.
